Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Joseph Abejide, ADC Governorship Candidate 2023, Member House of Representatives Yagba Federal Constituency, Chairman House Committee on Customs and Excise, was born on 8th of May, 1975 to his parents from Alu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

He obtained his primary school leaving certificate at LSMB Primary School, Alu-Igbagun, before proceeding to Alu Community Secondary School in 1991 where he served as Assistant Senior Prefect — an early display of leadership and humility.

He graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a BSc. in Economics, completed his NYSC, and later earned a Masters Degree in Economics from Bayero University (BUK) Kano.

Hon. Leke Abejide is the Chairman of ABYEM INT'L LTD, a leading private clearing company and the preferred choice for importers and exporters across Nigeria. He is also the founder of Leke Abejide Foundation, a non-partisan NGO serving widows, the aged, and indigent students.

He won his first election under the ADC in February 2019 and was re-elected in February 2023, serving as Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise in both tenures. He is a businessman, philanthropist, community builder, and a God-fearing Elder in the Church.
